Quick Update COTAPSA's Annual General Meeting
NEW CONSTITUTION
COTAPSA Members in attendance at the January 11, 2012 Annual General Meeting approved our new Constitution with one very minor amendment.
The new Constitution will soon be available for "Members Only" on COTAPSA's Website.
BOARD ELECTIONS
COTAPSA's new Constitution includes a reduction in the number of Directors from twenty (20) to twelve (12).
The process of transition for the election of a new Board is that COTAPSA will start with a clean slate. All current Directors serving on the Board will have to go through the election process should they wish to be re-elected.
Details of the election of the new Board will be provided in the near future as COTAPSA prepares for those elections.
COTAPSA is pleased to advise that Arthur Beauregard has been appointed by the Board as the Chief Returning Officer.
POSITION DELETIONS
COTAPSA's Law Firm gave a presentation on Members' rights in the event of a position deletion.
That PowerPoint presentation will soon be available on COTAPSA's Website for "Members Only".
WORK DISRUPTION
COTAPSA's Law Firm also gave a presentation on legal rights and responsibilities, do's and don'ts, etc. in the event of a work disruption at the City.
That PowerPoint presentation will also soon be available on COTAPSA's Website for "Members Only".
MEMBERS' NEEDS
COTAPSA wants to remind our Members to contact us in the event you need assistance or information now or in the near future as the City enters into a potentially difficult period.
It was our Members who kept the City safe, clean and functioning during the last work disruption, and we expect that our Members will be called on to do so again.
Should you have questions, please contact COTAPSA at (416) 392-7543 or email at COTAPSA@toronto.ca.
