COTAPSA GETS ACTION - City Managers Set for Raise
Dear Members,
As you know, COTAPSA has been working hard on matters that affect our Members.
Last year, COTAPSA’s Executive Director worked tirelessly and put a lot of effort into urging the last Council to address issues such as compensation and an agreement for our Members.
With the election of a new Mayor and new Council, COTAPSA, through its Executive Director, began its quiet diplomacy again with Mayor Ford, the new Council, and senior City staff with the following results:
I am pleased to announce that the Employee and Labour Relations Committee will meet on February 1, 2011 to consider non-union employee compensation. The Report recommends:
- A 2.25% cost-of-living adjustment for 2011
- Continue the performance-based policy for all non-union employees eligible for progression through their respective grade salary wages
- Going forward, to amend to 1.5% the performance-based re-earnable lump sum provision
for Toronto Public Service non-union employees at the City of Toronto.
We are providing you with the link to the Report going to Employee and Labour Relations on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 for your review.

Respectfully,
Ed Fearon, President
